Yael, the Australian who lives in New York City, played Lorna in Orange Is the New Black. Yael has received her NIDA degree. Since her early years, Yael has been lucky to be able to collaborate with some of Australia's top storytellers, stars of performance and visionaries behind the scenes in films, television and theatre. Yael is well-known as an actor in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was delighted to find her new home when Brooklyn Academy of Music, which was the venue where the production premiered to great acclaim, moved to the place she now calls New York City. Yael has been a co-founder of The Cannery. It is located in The Cannery, a Bushwick Brooklyn studio They encourage new, imaginative writing and promote innovative thinking.
